Course 150:  Mechanic’s Liens – A National Perspective

Mr. Bailey has 15 years of hands-on experience with the lien process as well as serving as a Credit Manager. Since 1970 NCS has been the leader in providing credit professionals throughout the U.S. and Canada with proactive solutions to secure receivables, minimize credit risk and improve profitability.

 

This course offers students a comprehensive overview and provides a clear outline of the complex matrix of state laws and regulations involved in the Lien process for private sector building projects. For public sector projects, Mr. Bailey explains the Bonding process, as reflected in the Miller Act for Federal building projects and little Miller Acts for state building projects.

The course consists of a one-hour and 40-minute video and slide presentation that offers business owners and employees of companies involved in public and private building projects knowledge and advice on how to protect their credit positions through the lien and bonding processes.

 

Course 150:  Mechanic’s Liens – A National Perspective is an on-demand course, allowing students to work independently and at their own pace to accommodate the time demands of busy professionals. Students may take as little or as much time as they need to complete the course.

 

After students have viewed and studied the information presented in this course, they may take a Final Exam of true/false and multiple-choice questions. Those students who get a grade of 70% or higher correct answers will receive a “Certificate of Professional Development,” from the Credit Research Foundation.

 

Prior to taking the Final Exam, students may revisit the video and slide learning session.
